/blogs/blog/improvements-to-the-leaderboard 2023-06-25T00:30:00-04:00 2023-07-03T15:03:43-04:00 Improvements To The Leaderboard Melissa Guth

We're excited to share some new changes and updates that we have made to the leaderboard system to make it even more engaging and personalized.听Echelon believes personalization is important. It can be daunting to many to see a leaderboard with thousands of people ahead of you. We are excited to release for On-Demand classes a personalized leaderboard - you will compete against your previous rides and get live feedback to help push you past your personal records to help you reach your goals. We believe wellness is a personal journey and we want to give our customers what they want and help them push past their fitness goals.听

Let's dive in and discover what's new on the leaderboard!

What鈥檚 Changing Now:

  • New Interactive On-Demand Leaderboard:听 The Leaderboard for on-demand classes will highlight how your performance ranks within a particular percentile and will provide live coaching feedback on whether your current pace will move you up or down within the percentile groups.听 This new view removes the long list of names to provide a consolidated view that allows you to easily see how you are stacking up against the pack.听 And, of course, if the leaderboard is not your thing, you can continue to swipe it away.
  • New Output Graphs:听 Push past your personal best with this innovative new feature that graphs your previous performance.听 Your current output will be tracked against your previous personal best in that particular class and the last time you took that specific class so you can see what you need to set a new PR.听听

What鈥檚 Not Changing:

  • The Live Leaderboard remains the same.听 You will continue to see your rank in real-time among all the other members.听

FAQs

How does the new Leaderboard work? I can鈥檛 see my rank!
The new On Demand leaderboard helps simplify how you personally stack up against the pack. It uses percentiles to gauge where you are in relation to other members. It also actively tracks your movement within those percentages and provides coaching feedback to indicate whether your current pace will move you up or down the pack.

Your rank within the class will still display on the class summary page after it鈥檚听been completed.听If you鈥檇 like to see your active rank during the class, we recommend taking a live or encore class. We鈥檝e added a significant number of additional encore classes for those that like to compete head-to-head! Of course, if the leaderboard isn鈥檛 your thing, you can continue to swipe it away.

Is the On Demand Leaderboard the same percentiles for all the classes?
Percentiles are currently based on output data from classes in the same format, which includes duration, modality and class type (for example, an Endurance 45 minute ride).

What鈥檚 different about the graphs and the old 鈥楽elf鈥 tab?
We love this new feature! The performance graph displays your personal best and compares this to the current class stats against previous performances in that specific class.

Where are my friends?
Great question! For those that like to compete head-to-head or workout alongside people you know, you can find your friends in our live and encore classes. We鈥檝e added significantly more encore classes to our offering.

To find your friends, simply tap the filter button in the upper left corner, then tap the friends button at the top.

One of the best ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle is to stick to a fitness routine and develop healthy habits 鈥 but life is full of changes that can make these intentions hard to follow. Nothing throws a wrench in your plans like travel. Whether you are traveling for work, enjoying a vacation, or off to visit family for the holidays, there is always the potential for fitness to fall to the bottom of your priority list.

Don鈥檛 let your hard work creating good routines and habits go to waste because of a trip. Luckily, you can take the Echelon Fit庐 app with you, so we asked Echelon instructors for their favorite classes to take in every travel situation.听

When you are short on space, try鈥

Weekend Roundup Stretch
explains that these 10-minute stretching classes are great workouts for a hotel room or anywhere that limits extended movement. As they are short and not high-intensity, you can easily fit them in at the end of a tiring day to promote recovery.

When you need to decompress, try...

Vinyasa Yoga
recommends packing a yoga mat and practicing Vinyasa yoga as a great way to work out any stress related to travel. As a more active practice, Vinyasa functions as an excellent workout for balance, mobility, and strength while still connecting movement with your breath to help calm your mind.

When you have access to a hotel gym, try...

Intro to Rhythm Run
points out that traveling can be an excellent time for members to try a new piece of equipment; most hotel gyms have treadmills, and all members can use the Echelon Fit庐 app with any smart device. She suggests rhythm runs for those with a bike at home as they are fun, music-driven workouts similar to Connect classes.听

When you need to be respectful of downstairs neighbors, try...听

Slow Flow Yoga
highlights that slow flow yoga involves plenty of time transitioning to poses so you won鈥檛 be doing quick, loud movements that might disturb others. Slow flow is also great for yoga newbies or those who want a lower-intensity workout.

When you need fresh air, try鈥

Outdoor Run
says that the Outdoor Run classes are guided runs designed to take you out of the house and into the fresh air. So enjoy all the benefits of an Echelon Stride class without the treadmill!

When you鈥檙e short on time, try鈥

HIIT
emphasizes that any movement is better than no movement, so she recommends a 10-minute HIIT workout. Of course, any 10-minute class is helpful to incorporate during a vacation, but HIIT maximizes every minute with high-intensity intervals. It also can help relieve stress and give you a boost of confidence.

It is easy to let travel derail your fitness goals, but you can stay active with the right plan! First, review our instructor鈥檚 workout travel tips and then choose the specific classes you want to take and when you will take them. Deciding on a workout plan before you leave will help you maintain your healthy habits, and the Echelon Fit庐 app makes it easy to bring the studio with you!

The wide range of Echelon听Connect Bike classes means you will never get bored with your workout. We鈥檝e explained our cycling classes to help you select the class that speaks to your mood and energy level.

When you want to gear up or slow down, try鈥

Warm Up Rides

Get your body ready to ride in this quick warm up class.

Cool Down Rides

This short cool down class allows your heart rate to slow down and recover.

When you are new to cycling, try鈥

Beginner Rides

Beginner Rides are a great way to learn the basics and sample all the types of rides we offer. You鈥檒l get to know our instructors and find the classes that inspire, challenge, and energize you.

When your focus is on building a solid foundation, try鈥

Endurance Rides

Endurance Rides incorporate the variables of time and tempo across milder terrains, helping you establish a solid foundation and build baseline fitness levels.

When you want to maintain strength and performance, try...

Power Rides

Power Rides get their name from the power generated by combined resistance and leg speed, also known as cadence. These interval rides switch up speed, load, and time to increase strength and stamina and spike post-workout metabolic activity.

When you are looking for something unique, try鈥

Zumba庐 Party Ride

Zumba庐 Party Ride is an Echelon-exclusive bike class where connected cycling meets high-energy Zumba庐 music and choreography.

When you want to let music rule your ride, try鈥

Cadence Rides

All Out Rides

All Out Rides are great benchmark classes where you鈥檒l practice and develop skills that directly translate to greater output on the leaderboard, and you can revisit these classes to see how you improve over time. They are an all-out effort, so it鈥檚 a good idea to take a Warm Up Rides class before joining.
